Understanding Your Obligations
When you receive discovery requests, you must:
- Respond within the deadline (usually 30 days)
- Answer truthfully and completely under oath
- Produce all requested documents you have access to
- Object only when legally appropriate
Failure to comply can result in court sanctions.
Lying in discovery is perjury. If caught, it destroys your credibility and can result in criminal charges.
